Lela Ruth Henn passed into Glory on April 1, 2017, in Turlock, CA. She was born in Chicago, IL on July 21, 1926 and was raised in Granite City, IL. She moved to Southern California with her husband, Bill Henn, and her young son Carl, in 1948. In 1955 the Henn family moved to Missions Springs and then to Mount Hermon where she worked on staff in the dining room. She was always very active in her church, singing in the choir, working with the youth, teaching bible study, and helping whenever there was a social event. She worked as a nurse's aide for several years at the Community Hospital, and enjoyed retail sales in women's clothing stores. Her favorite thing was baking and cooking a meal for those she loved. She often won blue ribbons with her entries at the County Fair. She was very outgoing and loved to entertain people, and was always ready to share the testimony of her love for the Lord.
She leaves behind her son, Carl L. Henn, Sr., Daughter-in-law, Folene Henn, three grandchildren, Carl Henn, Jr., Rolly Henn, and Dorene Dawson, and their spouses, and six great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Mount Hermon Christian Camp.
A graveside service will be held at the Soquel Cemetery on Old San Jose Rd. at 2:00p.m. April 9, 2017. Immediately following the service, friends and family are invited to the Dawson's house in Santa Cruz, CA, to celebrate her life.
