~~In 1952 he met Dolores Panattoni, the girl from down the street, they fell in love and were engaged. Dolores waited two years for Henry as he completed his military service and they married soon after. They made their home on the west side of Santa Cruz.It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Henry Stelling. Henry passed away peacefully with his family by his side in the home where he and his wife Dolores lived for over sixty years.
He was born in San Francisco and moved to Santa Cruz at the age of seven. He attended Mission Hill Junior High and was a graduate of Santa Cruz High School, Class of 1948. Henry attended San Jose State and E. Robert Schmitz School of Music. He was drafted and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Henry was a true music legend in Santa Cruz. He gave music lessons and his dance band "The Harbor Lites" played over twenty five hundred local venues throughout his music career. For many of you reading this, Henry was your music teacher or he played at your wedding.
Henry enjoyed golfing, vacations with his family, growing vegetables and hanging out with the grandkids. He was a very loyal Warriors fan.
Henry is survived by his wife of sixty four years, Dolores; his three children, Susan Smith and her husband Mike, Elaine McCarthy and her husband Steve and Peter Stelling and his wife, Christine. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, three nieces and one nephew.
Henry's family wishes to extend their deepest appreciation and gratitude to Dr. Holly Moore and her staff, his caregivers Dolores L. and Mary P., and Hospice of Santa Cruz.
