Marilyn Ruth (Reilly) Miller, loving wife of 65 years of Robert (Bob) Miller passed away peacefully on April 2nd at their home in Scotts Valley. Marilyn was born in Berkeley, California in 1931 and was the oldest of four sisters. Marilyn was working as a telephone operator when she met Bob who was serving in the Navy. After they married, Marilyn and Bob moved to Felton in 1953 and opened Miller's Refrigeration and Appliances. Marilyn was active in the Felton Fire Department Auxiliary, a Girl Scout leader, and a charter member of the local TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) chapter. Over her four decades living in San Lorenzo Valley, she was a member of several local churches, often singing in the choir or as a soloist. She later became a Century 21 Real Estate agent in Scotts Valley. Marilyn was well known at the Santa Cruz County Fair as a Master Apple Pie Baker – having won first place for many years. In 1991 Marilyn and Bob retired to a lake home they built at Poker Flat in Copperopolis. Marilyn enjoyed planning and hosting many gatherings of friends and a yearly family reunion. Bob and Marilyn moved to Spring Lakes in Scotts Valley in 2007. They wanted to be closer to their three children: Martha Kaufeldt (& husband Rick Burros), Mike & Sharron Miller, and Bill & Kim Miller. Marilyn enjoyed Bingo nights and other events at the Clubhouse, often riding her scooter to attend. Marilyn had multiple health issues and was a 25-year survivor of Breast Cancer. She will always be remembered for her great positive attitude and an infectious smile. She will be greatly missed by her husband, children, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three sisters, many friends, and her wonderful caregivers. A Celebration of Life is being planned on Saturday, May 13th at 2 pm at the Clubhouse at Spring Lakes Mobile Home Park, 225 Mt. Hermon Rd, Scotts Valley.
