Obituary of Lillian White
Lillian Madyline (Grindstaff) White a long time resident of Santa Cruz County, passed away at Pacific Coast Manor Nursing Home on June 29, 2017 she was 89 years old. She was a resident for last 20 years in Aptos. But lived in Santa Cruz County since 1952.She was born on July 13, 1927 in Rich Hill, Missouri to Jesse Coleman and Lucy Leona (Gamble) Grindstaff. She graduated from Lexington High School, Lexington, Missouri in 1945. Lillian married Marvin Lavern White on December 1, 1946 in Lexington, Missouri. They then moved to Santa Cruz in 1952, where they raised 5 children. They were married for 63 years. She worked for Stokely Canning Co., Birdseye Frozen Foods and various food canneries in Santa Cruz County. The Apple Shed in Soquel, Sylvania Electronics for nine years. She retired from Thomas J. Lipton Co. as a black tea machine operator in 1990 after 17 years.
Lillian loved cooking, bird watching and gardening with her loving companion Terrier "Missy". She was the backbone, heart & soul of her family. We will truly miss her. Her last greatest pleasure in life was Facetiming for the 1st time ever with her grandson and great grandsons. Special thanks to Melvina (ex-daughter-in-law) for suggesting it.
She is survived by her daughters Carol (Paul) Cabanlit Jr, Doris (Don) Sakamoto, both of Santa Cruz. Lois White of Missouri. Son Gary White of Arizona. Grandson Gary (Jennifer) White II, great grandsons Gavin & Dominic of New Jersey. Granddaughter Tashia Veach, great grandchildren Jay and Katrina of Iowa. Grandson Brian White of Watsonville.
She is predeceased by her son Marvin J. White of Taiwan, and husband Marvin L. White of Aptos
