Obituary of Mable Carroll
Mable Thompson Carroll passed away on June 29, 2017 at Kindred Health Care Center in Santa Cruz, California. She was 92. Born in Slaughter, Louisiana the daughter of Johnnie and Christine Thompson. Mable grew up and lived most of her adult life in Louisiana. She moved to Santa Cruz in 2011 where she has resided with her sister.
Mable was a longtime member and an active member of the choir of the New Philadelphia Baptist Church in Slaughter, Louisiana, where she was very devoted to her church family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Carroll; her parents, Johnnie and Christine Thompson; her brothers, Johnnie Thompson, Jr., Freddie J Thompson, J.B. Thompson and Northern Thompson.
Her survivers include her sisters, Florida Whitley of Santa Cruz; Essie B. Howard of Las Vegas, NV and Dellarie Hayes of Baton Rouge, LA. She also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other extended family and her church family.
Visitation will be held at Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel, 1050 Cauga St. Santa Cruz on Wednesday July 12, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 p.m with a prayer service beginning at 4:00 pm.
