Obituary of Rita Love
Rita M. Love
August 14, 1939 – December 20, 2017
A private family ceremony and committal will be held in Santa Cruz for Rita Love who passed away at Dominican Hospital following a lengthy battle with heart disease. Born in Sana Cruz, she was 78 years old. Rita attended local schools, later moving to Florida with her young family. She drove a school bus for the Fort Myer School District for 10 years, and was a devoted, proud custodian of her young passengers. She leaves many dear friends, former students, and colleagues who will miss her. Rita was also a talented hair stylist for more than 40 years. She offered unique home visits to elderly homebound ladies that were unable to visit a beauty shop, and her kindness often led to assisting people in various ways.
Rita loved to travel, and her four trips to New York held fond memoires for her. She often visited her friends and family in Santa Cruz, and permanently moved back in 2015. She was a dedicated member and friend of Bill W.
Rita is survived by her son Greg Love, her daughter Lynell Love, her brother Ray Bargas, and her sister, Martha Bargas. She also leaves her loving grandchildren: Adeena, Allan, Melissa, and Evelyn. Rita was very happy to have witnessed the birth of her great granddaughters Emma and Ava. She was preceded in death by her sons; Ronnie and Allan Love, and her brothers; Rudy Escalante Sr., Ron Bargas, and Randy Bargas.
She will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Holy Cross Cemetery in Santa Cruz.
Any kind acts of charity can be made in her memory to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
