Obituary of Albert Lee Kidder

Albert Lee Kidder, Jr. Albert Lee Kidder, Jr. lovingly known by his family and friends as Lee passed away peacefully on September 2, 2010 at Driftwood Health Care Center. He was 75. Lee was born in Spokane, Washington on February, 16, 1935. He grew up in Yakima, Washington and was a graduate of Yakima High School, class of 1954. Following high school Lee enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served proudly from 1954 until his retirement in 1974 as a Petty Officer, 1st Class. In 1968 he moved to Santa Cruz where he was assigned to the 12th Naval District Training Center at DeLaveaga. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, the Fleet Reserve Association and AARP. In his spare time Lee enjoyed bowling, fishing and was an avid sports fan. His favorite teams were the Giants, 49'ers and the Sharks. He was described by his family as a personable man who enjoyed people and always had a joke to share. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Geraldine Pieracci Kidder of Santa Cruz; sons, James Lee Kidder and his wife, Becky of Roseville and Scott Alan Kidder of Scotts Valley; brother, Robert Oren Kidder of Scotsdale, AZ; he is also survived by his two granddaughters, Samantha Kidder and Sabrina Kidder both of Roseville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Lee Kidder, Sr and Opal Boren Stewart. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Holy Cross Church 126 High St, Santa Cruz, CA on Wednesday September 8, 2010 at 10:00 am. Friends are invited to call at Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel, 1050 Cayuga St, Santa Cruz, Ca. on Monday from 5 -7 pm and Tuesday from 5-7pm. Interment will be in Santa Cruz Memorial Park.
