Obituary of Tina Sue Pokorny

Tina Sue Pokorny (Larson), a woman charged with laughter and joy, brightened the world around her, passed away on September 23, 2017, surrounded by love and family. The pathway of her life ran alternately through meadows of sunlight and valleys of shadow. Tina was born in Sacramento, CA, on the Fourth of July, 1951. She attended local Sacramento schools and graduated from Southern Oregon University in Ashland. Her vocational years were filled with a number of pursuits including professional involvement in youth counseling and public service. Tina is survived by her two wonderfully achieving daughters, Jennifer Nolin of Augusta, GA, and Suzy Pokorny of Coos Bay, OR. In addition, she leaves behind her five beloved grandchildren: Lillian, Jodie, Makena, Harrison, Beckham, and her father, Ed Larson of Santa Cruz, CA. She was preceded in death by her mother Marilyn Larson in 2012. Tina's gift to us was not the sorrow of loss, but the joy and vitality of her being. In lieu of flowers, donations to Dominican Hospital, where Tina received outstanding care and kindness, or to a charity of your choice will be greatly appreciated. Interment plans are yet to be determined.
