Obituary of Emma Maria Owen

Emma Sanchez Owen passed away on October 24, 2010 with her family at her side. She was 84 years old. Emma was born on July 11, 1926 in El Paso, Texas to Raymondo Sanchez and Herlinda Morales Sanchez. She also lived in San Francisco for a time, and currently resided in Aptos. Emma worked as a Pharmacy Clerk for around 45 years; she became so knowledgeable that she could have been a Pharmacist herself. Emma loved sewing needle point, quilting, gardening, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved her children and grandchildren more than anything, and she was much loved in return. She will be greatly missed. Emma is survived by her children, Erlinda Zelaya, Theresa (Bill) Bray, Michael (Kim) Molinar, and Paulette and Judy. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 1 great great granddaughter. A Memorial Service will be held for Emma on Sunday, October 31st beginning at 3 o'clock in the afternoon at Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel, 1050 Cayuga St. in Santa Cruz. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society Memorial Program, Monterey-San Benito Unit, 1184 Monroe St., Suite 1, Salinas, Ca 93906-3590.
