Obituary of Evelyn S. Pugmire

Evelyn S. Pugmire Resident of Scotts Valley (Ida) Evelyn Siler Pugmire, 84, passed away Friday, October 20, 2017, with her family at her bedside having had Alzheimer's Dementia for many years. Evelyn was born November 21, 1932, in Pocatello, Idaho. Evelyn married Robert (Bob) M. Pugmire, Jr., on August 13, 1955. Evelyn supported Bob throughout his Army career, which eventually brought them to Fort Ord, and their endeavor to later open a clock and antique shop in Moss Landing. Many weekends were spent "jewelry hounding" and looking for collectibles and treasures to display in their shop. While stationed in Alaska, Evelyn received the sweetest phone call from her cousin/best friend, Barbara, asking, "Do you feel like a momma"? Twenty-four hours later, Evelyn was holding her baby boy, Scott. Her daughter, Nikki, was adopted two years later. Evelyn's greatest joy was being a mother to her children. Evelyn's spare time was spent sewing and hand quilting. Preceded in death by her husband, Bob; Evelyn is survived by her two children, Scott (Kendra) and Nikki (William); two grandchildren, Alexander and Christopher; and companion dog, Jackie. Many caregivers helped Evelyn remain at home with Scott and Kendra. Our gratitude is extended to each and every caregiver who was a part of her life during the past five years and to Care From The Heart. Evelyn will be laid to rest in Pocatello, Idaho. An informal gathering for all who knew Evelyn will be held at her home: 15095 Oak Hills Drive, Salinas, CA 93907, on Saturday, October 28, 2017, between 12noon and 5pm.
