Obituary of Sally Ann Gianone

Services will be private for Sally Ann Gianone (Woodman) who passed away peacefully on January 27, 2018 in Santa Cruz, California. She was 97years old.

Born on March 24, 1920 to Ralph and Perle Woodman in Pescadero, California as part of pioneer family of Pescadero. She graduated from Pescadero High School and Business School in Palo Alto.

Sally lived on the family ranch on Swanton Road until moving to Santa Cruz in 1974. Her last four years, she was a resident at Maple House II, Assisted Living in Santa Cruz.

Later in life Sally worked as a receptionist at H and R Block.

Sally was a wonderful Seamstress and Knitter. Many cats and little dogs have her mini Afghans. Sally loved gardening, walking, reading and playing bridge.

Sally was a wonderful Mother and will never be forgotten.

A very heartfelt thank you to Sarah Chen, Ronald Lising and the entire staff of Maple House II for their wonderful care and support of Sally.

Sally is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Gianone who passed away on May 3, 1971 and her sister, Jane Leftwich who passed away on December 24, 1995.

Sally is survived by her daughters and son-in-laws, JoAnne and Jerry Piepmeyer and Susan and Ben Hawes. She is also survived by her dear friends, Mary Lou Stewart, Bonnie Wildberger and Donna and Frazz Frassinello.

Sally’s family requests that donations be made to either Hospice of Santa Cruz County, (940 Disc Dr. Scotts Valley, CA 95066), Santa Cruz SPCA (PO Box 3800 Santa Cruz, CA 95065) or Staff of Dominican Hospital, (1555 Soquel Drive Santa Cruz, CA 95065).
