Christopher Tayamen Kamau was born on January 21st 1989 to Mungai and Carmencita Kamau in Sacramento California. Chris was the elder brother to David and Mitchell. Chris grew up in Big Basin State Park and attended Boulder Creek Elementary and proceeded onto San Lorenzo Valley Junior High and finally graduated from San Lorenzo Valley High School. At the time of his demise, he was a student at San Jose University majoring in avionics. While in school he excelled in his academics as well as extra curricular activities which include basketball, cross country, track and soccer. His passion for soccer was evident in his involvement with the intramural soccer at San Jose State and also his recent interaction with friends and family during the 2010 world cup games. Chris had a love for music and had nicknamed his guitar "Goonie" which he spent weekends and evenings learning to play and tried to teach his younger brother Mitchell how to play. Always ready with a warm smile, Chris was greatly respected and admired not only by his two younger brothers but also by his fellow students, athletes, teachers and many others who experienced his integrity, strength of character and kind heart.
