Obituary of Donald Montague

 

Don was born in Venice, California on November 14, 1930 to Calvin and Theadora Montague. Shortly after birth they moved to San Francisco where they lived for five years.

The family returned to Southern California and lived in West Los Angeles and Culver City going to local schools and graduting from Hamilton High School in 1949.

Don was hired by Prudential Insurance and served in the home office in Los Angeles on the Miracle Mile.

In 1951 he was drafted into the Army during  the Korean War. He served as an investigator for the 55th Military Police and Provost Marshall in Seoul, Korea until 1953.

After his discharge he returned to Prudentrial. In 1955 he transferred to sales in  Inglewood, Ca. In 1964 he transferred to the San Jose office.

Then he was asked to manage the Santa Cruz office. He worked that office until retirement in 1985.

All along the way meeting and keeping lifelong friends.

He married his third wife Diane in 1972. They ever aftered for forty six years, enjoying and playing golf, tennis and traveling and socializing with friends, neighbors and their children.

Don is survived by his wife Diane, three children Gregory Montague, Debra Goldsmith, Douglas Montague. Grandchildren Brittany Erez, Brannum Goldsmith, and Great Grandchild  Sivane. Step children David Gassaway, Lynette Sedenquist and Tim Gassaway.
