Obituary of Lydia Maxine Bogner

 Lydia Maxine Bogner January 19, 1923-June 27, 2018 Resident of Felton

 

 

Lydia Maxine Bogner died peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family at the age of 95 at 3:00pm on June 27, 2018 at Valley Haven Assisted Living Home. Lydia enjoyed gardening, and golfing. She was particularly fond of and good at playing the piano. Her love of nature fueled her creative artistic beauty and was expressed through her painting. She shared this love of nature and appre- ciation of beauty with her family for many years at her home on the shores of Pine Mountain Lake, Groveland, Ca. She reveled being a mother to her five children and was there for many of their milestones. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband John S. Bogner, her daughter Katherine Elizabeth (Alvarez) Von Almon. Also preceding her were her brothers Bill, Chuck, and Al, her granddaughter Lori Allegri Kerrigan, and sonin-law Jody Edsall. Lydia is survived by her remaining children, Judy Allegri and husband Gus, Stephen J. Bogner and wife Diana, Phillip A. Bogner and wife Kathy, and Jeannie (Bogner/Pearce) Edsall. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. The Bogner family wishes to thank Dr. Adam Yarme for his many years of great care to mom as her primary physician. They would also like to thank the staff at Valley Haven Assisted Living Facility for their ex- cellent care. Thanks would not be complete without acknowledging Hospice of Santa Cruz for their com- passion and comfort for mom. Family and friends may pay their respect prior to the rosary. The rosary will be recited on Monday, July 2, 2018 at Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel beginning at 5:00pm. The mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 3 at St. Johns Catholic Church, 120 Russell Ave., Felton at 11:00am. Burial will follow directly after at Holy Cross Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held with a reception at Chaminade Resort starting at 1:30pm.
