Obituary of Wayne Joseph Biondi

On July 14, 2018, Wayne Joseph Biondi passed to the stars and into the arms of his parents, John and Sally Biondi, at the age of 77. Wayne was born in San Francisco, and moved with his family to Santa Cruz at an early age.

Wayne graduated from Santa Cruz High School in 1958, where he was the first male Head Cheerleader, in school’s history, a role he relished since it brought him closer to the ladies! After high school he went on to graduate from San Jose State University with a degree in geography, and a minor in history.

Wayne first worked for the Boy Scouts of America, and later joined FMC as the Marketing and Sales Director for the Motor Coach Division. His work there allowed him to travel and take interesting trips, which he frequently shared with his children. From there he went on to work for RMC Lonestar in sales and marketing. He rounded out his career working for Royal Trucking in sales and marketing. He took great pride in his people skills, always remembering people, places, names and special dates.

He was an avid collector of beer cans, coins, stamps and sports memorabilia. He was also a serious history and geography buff, and loved to travel to national and state parks, monuments and museums.

Wayne’s jokester personality and friendliness to all, especially animals, will be greatly missed. He was a witty person with a great sense of humor. He embodied everything most of us aspire to be, taking in all of life’s gifts with gratitude; family, friends, love and laughter. His friendships numbered in the hundreds and included people of all ages, races and backgrounds.

He leaves his loving children, Julie (Kevin) Burnett, Jeff and Jennifer Biondi; grandchildren, Alexander and Carolyn Burnett; brother, John (Gina); and his caring and devoted “partner” (as he referred to her), Nancy Biondi of 37 years, and her children, Jeff Bobbitt (Heather), Jill Dolcini (Darrell McLeod), and grandson Nick Dolcini, along with a host of close family and friends.

Wayne was a member of the Catholic Church, Boy Scouts of America, Elks and Marconi Club. The family would like to thank Alexandria Victoria for his loving care, and also thank Rose and the staff of Hospice for making Wayne’s final days comfortable.
