Obituary of Roland Franklin Bridston

Rol, the son of Oscar and Mabelle Bridston, was born in Montana on March 27, 1919.  He grew up in Southern California and was a graduate of Alhambra High School and attended Cal Poly State.  He served his country during World War II as a Navy Lieutenant.  He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross Medal as a Navy Pilot for participating in an aerial mining mission in the Marshall Islands in January, 1944.  He was a salesman his entire life selling everything from garage door openers to real estate.  He loved the beach, golfing and he was an active member of the Valley Vineyard Church in Scotts Valley for over 30 years.

Rol is survived by his wife Barbara Bridston of 48 years, his brothers Daniel Bridston and Richard Bridston, son Jon Bridston, daughter Gail Bridston-Mayo, step daughters Carol Delange and Geri Bridston, step son Bob Obert, 11 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.  He was pre-ceded in death by his parents, brother John Wes Bridston, sister Margaret Bridston, son James Bridston, and his first wife Winona Bridston.

A memorial service and celebration of life will be held Sunday Aug 19 at 1:00 pm at Valley Vineyard Church, 360 Kings Village Rd., Scotts Valley, CA.
