Robert Watson

Obituary of Robert D. Watson

46 Year Resident of Santa Cruz

A private committal is planned for Robert Watson who passed away peacefully here in Santa Cruz, following a lengthy illness.

Born in San Francisco, he moved to the Santa Cruz area 46 years ago. Bob began working for Pacific Bell Telephone and had a career that spanned over 25 years in telecommunications.

Bob loved the outdoors, and many fond family memories will be cherished of the camping trip to Crater Lake in Oregon, camping trips to Lake Oroville and his love for Huntington Lake in the Sierras.  Bob was very interested in Native American History. He was well read on the topic, and enjoyed travelling to the South West to explore and experience the many cultures there.  He was also a music aficionado, and a lover of art.

Bob’s three children and their families were truly the apple of his eye, and he will be remembered for his love and dedication to them all.

He is survived by his daughter, Laura Azzaro and son-in-law, Matt Azzaro; his daughter, Mary Loberman and son-in-law, Kirk Loberman; his son, Bob Watson; his brother, Paul Watson, and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.   Bob was preceded in death by his sister, Marilyn Pullen and brother-in-law, Walt Pullen.

Any kind acts of charity can be made in his memory to Hospice of Santa Cruz County.
