Just happened to run into this obituary. I met Ed when he got out of the army. For a brief time I had the pleasure of working with him at John Oster mfg co. We were the same age and somewhat similar backgrounds. After he left Osters for the Wauwatosa police department I hadn’t seen him for sometime. Somewhere in the middle 60s I was cruising through Tosa and got pulled over, red lights and all. Yes, it was Ed. We had a nice chat and that was the last time I saw my friend Ed. Bob Koeferl. So sorry to hear of Ed’s passing. I first met Ed years ago when we served together as panel members on a hiring panel for the City of Santa Cruz. I worked for Santa Cruz P.D. my entire career and Ed for San Jose P.D., so we shared a common interest in police work. We shared many “war stories” over the years as I would run into him throughout both of our travels around Santa Cruz. I will miss you Ed. Condolences to your family. Rest In Peace my friend.
