Dearest Family and many loved ones of Jim,
I will miss Jim ALOT he was a straight talker , no games, he would defend you like a papa bear. I will miss his stories about his adventures, ALL the knowledge he was willing to share about being a 9-1-1 dispatcher (I was also a dispatcher for 37 yrs, many of those years with Jim in Santa Cruz) and have been married for 41. I am happy Larry my husband got to meet and talk with Jim. He was a DEFENDER of the underdog, and he WOULD NOT let any non sense get by him. I appreciated his talks, his stories, and life lessons. I am very sorry for your loss, but glad he isn't suffering any more.
This is so cliche to say but he will TRULY be missed.
My thoughts are with you all...........

We are saddened to hear of the passing of our former neighbor Jim. We will always remember Jim for his energy, youthful spirit and his enjoyment of a good life and good conversation. We thank him especially for a difficult task that he helped us, the sign of a great neighbor. Thanks, Jim.

I want to express, to the extended Riccabona family, the SC County Animal Shelter's deep appreciation for Mr. Riccabona's thoughtful gesture in suggesting memorial donations to the Shelter. It seems clear that "Rocky" brought love and joy to Mr. Riccabona's life, and was appreciated by the entire family. Memorial donations will help us bring other animals and people together, and we are very grateful. Pamela Lee Lowry, Secretary, SC County Animal Shelter Foundation.
