Dear Char and Family, I have so many great memories of Pa and Ma Amin growing up, mostly of the love they spread to everyone. I was so fortunate to have spent many days at your house. I am so sorry for your loss and hope our parents are with each other in heaven. Sue Herum Vitales

I loved your dad so much-when I joined the Elks Lodge, I would come in on member nights and see him and Bernie sitting at a table with their friends. I could always see him across the room because he was usually wearing a yellow Olympia beer jacket! As soon as I got within range, we would call out, "Here comes TROUBLE!" to let the rest of the table know I was approaching. It always made me smile when I heard that!

I am so saddened by John’s passing. I have wonderful memories of him at family celebrations . Even though I didn’t see him that often, he always made me feel like little time had passed. He is at peace now with his loving wife, Marie and good friends to welcome him including my parents, Manny and Lilly Moreno. God bless you always, John. I will miss you!

I have many fond memories of growing up around the loving presence of my parent's dear friends, John and Marie Amin. They were part of the fabric of my childhood and I will be forever grateful for them. And while it is so very sad to lose John, I know he and Marie are thrilled to be together again. With much love, Lynette Mungai Curthoys

In 1974 my husband and I were approved for $35,000 to buy a home. We looked and looked and could not find a home in that price range we liked. We found a new home in Mañana Woods in Scotts Valley for $42, 000. My husband was making about $500 a month teaching and I was in graduate school. John Amin was manager of County Bank, and we made an appointment to talk to him about the loan. We had banked at County Bank since we had moved to Scotts Valley as newlyweds in 1971, so we knew John. When he looked over our application for the loan, he said "Well kids, you don't qualify for this loan, but I'm going to approve it." What an amazing man! We moved into our home In May of 1974, and I still live in this lovely home. My husband and I raised three children here. My husband died in 2016 of glioblastoma. I'm still thankful for John's generosity! Peace to John Amin's memory.

I believe that most everyone has a favorite uncle and my Uncle John was so much more than my favorite uncle. There will never be enough words to express my love for him. He was a beautiful father figure for me when we lost my Dad - his brother and was there for my family when we lost my Mom also. One of my fondest memories when I was older and would visit Uncle John was all the times he would take us on drives through Santa Cruz and tell us all the wonderful stories of my families history and his. He was definitely a jokester that always made me laugh and he loved to dance which I had the joy of doing with him at my son’s wedding. He was a generous, caring and loving man to all who had the pleasure of knowing him and being a part of his life. There’s a beautiful new star in the heavens above now and I have no doubt that there is love and laughter too. My heart aches at the loss of my Uncle John and I will love him now and forever. Give everyone with you a kiss for me Uncle John!!! Love you, Jayne
