Lil and I worked together at Englewood Elementary School. Even though I was quite a bit younger than she was we formed a special relationship. We both shared a love of the English language. While taking some college courses, she edited my work and encouraged me to continue my creative writing endeavors. I always dreamed of writing a book and dedicating it to Lil.
Lil and I had a running joke about bunnies. More specifically bunny slippers. It went on for decades. She always amazed me that she could find humorous cards with bunnies on them. Her sense of humor was quick and easy. We had some good laughs.
A poem that Lil and I enjoyed was “Warning: When I Get Old I Shall Wear Purple” by Jenny Joseph. The older I get the more I identify with the poem. I don’t know if Lil “ran a stick along public railings” or “spent her pension on brandy and summer gloves” as the poem depicted but, knowing Lil, I’m sure she made life interesting in her later years. I will miss my dear friend but I feel so incredibly blessed to have known her. I am a better person because of Lil.
Sincere condolences to all of her family.

Cousin Vinny - just like your Dad - my Uncle Vinny. Your Dad was my Mom's rock when my Dad died. He took care of her so she never felt loneliness. You both are sweethearts and my only cousin on the West Coast. Thank you for your beautiful memories. Now the whole Malizia family are together in heaven - all the brothers and sisters and spouses and moms and dads and cousins. I am so grateful for my loving cousins and family still here. We are all so blessed!
Love you Cuz!

To My (wonderful charismatic and Sassy ) Grandma!
To all of our Las Vegas summer days ... swimming in the pool together and trying to "catch fish".
To the times we would go to the buffets together and I always thought I was so cool to get to walk into a Casino as a kid.
Flying on the plane to see you by myself when I was kid and always getting butterflies walking up the ramp to see you! I knew as soon as I saw you my vacation was really about to start :)
To getting lost with you in a golf cart ( that I was driving) in Arizona because every house looked the same... thank god we found our way back in time before the sun went down. lol
Some of my favorite memories but certainly not even a fraction of the times we spent together.
You always manage to be there for me through every phase of me growing up.
You were the best roommate I had ( besides some minor disputes) caused by me lol.
You were funny and sassy you never missed a beat... I would often forget how old you really were... cause lets face it you could pretty much run circles around me.
If I could write a book about our lives together over the Years I would... that would give justice to how incredibly awesome you were as a person and a Grandma.
Im glad you're finally reunited with Grandpa Tony up in heaven!
I will always hold these memories close to my heart ... which is very comforting.
Take care will ya ... I Love You Grandma!
Rest in Paradise

Shila, you got the best of Grandma! She seamlessly moved into your "generation". Can't believe all the things you got away with that I couldn't way back when. Grandma got such a kick out of you - don't know if you made her young or she kept you playful. You two were peas in a pod. I love you Shila for adding so much joy to her life.

Aunt Lillian?
What can I say?
Always warm, happy and energetic. Don't ever remember her in a bad mood. She was smart too and kept you on your toes. I guess all that makes me a lucky nephew. My only complaint is that it ended, but not the memories.
Love,
Stephen

Cousin Stephen. Many years have passed since you spent time with my Mom. That's when we were really kids at each other's homes. She was all that you remembered - maybe a bad mood occasionally - but truly an easy and gentle soul. Thank you for sharing and reminding me of her specialness. Love you cousin!

I admired your independence that you enjoyed, not many people can say that. You had Janet who took wonderful care of you and your needs. Sorry that I couldn't visit with but the skype visits were great, like being there. We all love you and wish the best in your continuing journey. Love Bobby, Kathy, Lynn and Michelle

Lil (she let us call her that) was always one of my favorite people. Sometimes when I recall my teenage years, she's right there laughing and joking around with us. She did not, however, let us forget that she "got" us and we couldn't get anything past her! I'm happy that she lived such a long, full life and she can now enjoy eternity with our Lord. See you on the other side Lil!

Thank you Barbara. She was notorious for Chinese Buffet and her aluminum-lined "pocket book". Made me smile to remember her fun antics. I miss her and feel so fortunate that she spent her last 10 years close to me and my family in California. She had lots of "inside jokes and activities" friends share with me. She still was stocking up on extra
"creamers and sugars" in the nursing home! Thank you for the sweet memories!

I especially feel closer to her living down here in Florida if it wasn’t for Aunt Lil and Uncle Tony I never would have even known about this beautiful place. May she RIP and may all of you cherish the many memories you made with her. Till we meet again

Love your memory and symbolic gesture. Mom loved birds and ladybugs and seashells. Her collection from Florida was amazing. So many great memories of Dad and Mom in Florida with Grandma and Grandpa. She loved when you and Tommy and family came to visit. Just another reason to play. Happy you are happy in Florida.
