Edwin Viviani

Obituary of Edwin Viviani

Our great friend, husband, father and brother, Edwin “Ed” Viviani is gone. He passed away in the arms of God on January 30, 2021. He was born on March 29, 1932, and raised on the north coast at the Laguna Inn which was a gathering place where many bar-b-ques and fun times were had by all. The Laguna Creek was adjacent to the home where he spent hours fishing for trout and always caught the limit. He graduated from Santa Cruz High School in 1950, and then entered the Air Force. After serving 4 years, went to work at his father-in-law’s Toby Rasp Business for 35 years. After retirement he enjoyed spending time with his many friends at numerous coffee houses enjoying their camaraderie, also spending time with his beloved dogs Louie and Cooper. If you conversed with Ed for five minutes you had a friend forever. When the various hunting and fishing seasons opened, the mountains knew that Ed would be coming. The hunter and fisherman was on his way. Ed knew all of the mountains by their first names and the sparkling creeks for their swift movement toward the sea. He was loved by all that crossed his path, a loving, caring guy who had a kind word for everyone.

Ed is survived by his wife Sandi of 50 years, son Michael Viviani, daughters Linda Lippi, (John), sister Dee Murray, (Bob), ex-wife Judy Yoder, grandchildren Marcie Bothe, Daniel Viviani, Melissa Viviani and Casandra Viviani, great grandchildren Matt Viviani, Isabella Ortiz, Vivian Bothe, Connor Bothe and Lexie Garcia. He is also survived by his best and loyal friend, Steve Garcia and friend Joel Bateman.

He was preceded in death by his father, Julius Viviani, mother, Lena Loezius and infant son Mark. We will honor Ed’s wishes by not having a memorial service. If you so desire, you may make a donation in his name to the American Cancer Society.
