June 8, 1928 – March 1, 2021

Lifelong Santa Cruz Resident

A private family ceremony will be held for Eva Quilici who passed away in the presence of her loving family at Dominican Hospital at the age of 92.

She was the daughter of Italian immigrants, Cesare Dell’Orfanello and Landa Tambellini Dell’Orfanello and was born at Santa Cruz Hospital. The family resided in (Newtown) Davenport, CA. In 1935 the family moved to the north coast ranch where her family grew Brussel Sprouts.

After graduating from Santa Cruz High school in 1946, she went to work at the local welfare office, she also worked for many years at John Ingalls frozen foods.

While living on the ranch, Eva met Albert Quilici who was also a native Santa Cruzan who had enlisted in the Navy, and had just returned from his service duty.  They were married June 4, 1950 at Holy Cross Church and moved to Virginia City for a time, before returning to Santa Cruz where Albert became a partner in the Miramar Ranch (Brussel Sprouts Farm).

Eva and Albert enjoyed 60 years of marriage and were parishioners of Holy Cross Church, The Italian Catholic Federation, and enjoyed attending the many events hosted by both the Marconi Club & Italian Catholic Federation. Albert preceded her in death in 2010.

Eva enjoyed cooking, gardening, traveling & preparing for the many family functions through out the years.

Family was of paramount importance in Eva’s long and blessed life.  She endured some setbacks to be sure, but also took pride in her family’s accomplishments. Her love and dedication will continue to be a beautiful example for all of her loved ones to follow.

Eva is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Randy and Roxanne Quilici, her daughter Elaine Padilla, her sister Betty Del Chario, Nephew
