Obituary of Simon Neil Evans

Simon Neil Evans A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday for Simon N. Evans who passed away December 10, 2010 in Aptos. He was 37. Simon was raised in Capitola where he was a graduate of Soquel High School, Class of 1992 and later earned his associates degree from Butte College in 1996 where he was a member of the Delta Psi Delta Fraternity. A resident of Aptos, Simon worked as a project manager for Ultimate Control. He was a devoted father and was characterized by his family as a fun loving person who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He especially loved family trips to Hawaii, family BBQ's and days spent at the beach. He was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed playing golf, fishing and duck hunting. Simon loved playing baseball and had played the sport from Little League through college. As a young child, Simon was one of the first Little Guards in the Capitola Junior Lifeguard Program. He is survived by his wife of 71/2 years, Gina Marie Evans; his daughter, Nadia Marie Evans , age 5 and son, Jack Wayne Evans, age 3; his parents, Nancy and Larry Stuart and John and Kathy Evans; sister, Brandi Manchester and her husband, Bill; nieces, Ella and Lena Manchester; step-brother, John Dakan and his wife, Stacy; step-sister, Jayme Knott and her husband, Dustin; mother -in-law, Donna Cavallaro and his brother in law, Dominic Cavallaro his wife Suzie and nephews Nicholas and Nathan. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins residing in Aptos, Watsonville, Nevada, Oregon and Idaho. Simon also leaves his dear friends and second family, Mick, Patty and Myles Routh. He is preceded in death by his grandparents and his father -in-law, Bart Cavallaro. A celebration of his life will be held at Best Western Seacliff Inn, 7500 Old Dominion Ct, Aptos, CA 95003, Saturday, December 18, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent to the Simon Evans Memorial Fund for the benefit of his children at Wells Fargo Bank, Account # 8430627847.
