Casey Peter Silva, a long time resident of Capitola passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on July 23, 2010 with his loving family by his side. They joined the Peace Corps and moved to Venezuela. When they returned, they bought a home in Los Gatos and were blessed with a son, Cory. Unfortunately their marriage ended, whereupon Casey moved to the Santa Cruz area making it his home. Casey cherished the time he spent with his son, making it to every baseball and soccer game he played and all of the important events of his son's life. Later in life they frequented Lake Tahoe every chance they had together. They were Best Buds. Casey loved to golf, fish and watch horse races. He worked at the Shadowbrook restaurant for many years and called all of the employees, "His People." He was exceptionally smart and was an extremely generous man who lived his own way and liked things simple. He was great at treating everyone the same. Casey is survived by his son, Cory Silva of Elk Grove, CA; his sister Annie Silva of Santa Cruz, brothers Jerry Silva of New Zealand and Toby Silva of Australia, nephews; Daniel Silva of Colorado and Andy Silva of New Zealand and his former wife, Kathy Silva.
