OLIVIA "HOLLY" LLOYD BARTON A private committal will be held for Olivia Holly Barton who passed away at her Ben Lomond home on August 15, 2010 at the age of 92. Born in Alberta, Canada, she moved to Wisconsin as a toddler and was raised there and later in Clayton County Iowa. She was a commercial artist with a career spanning over 25 years. Her art creations were often simply signed with "Holly" in the lower corner. She painted and sketched with various mediums including water color, oils, and pencil sketchings. Olivia's wonderful artistry will live on through her paintings. She moved to Ben Lomond to be near her daughter's four children's families in 1987. Prior to that, she was a long time resident of the San Francisco area, and later moved to Santa Clara, Saratoga, and for about fourteen years, to El Toro, Southern California, to care for her 97 year old mother, Ila. She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Linda and Phillip Lemkin of Ben Lomond, and four grandchildren, Steven, Michael, Robin & Christina, fourteen great-grandchildren, and soon to be her seventh great-great-grandchildren , and was preceded in death by her sister, Ila Jean Oetken, in 2008, aged 83. She will be laid to rest in a private ceremony in the family section of Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Clayton County, Iowa. The family asks that any kind acts of charity be made in a gift towards her memorial stone on her family plot.
