Obituary of Mike Mervin Joseph Edmonds

Mike Edmonds passed away July 3, 2010, at Stanford University Medical Center, Palo Alto, CA. at the age of 68. He was born July 19, 1941, in Palo Alto, California, the son of Ralph J. Edmonds and Gladys Lomsdalen Maxwell. He grew up in Washington State where as a youngster he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Following his high school graduation he moved to Santa Cruz where he has lived since. Mike joined the U.S. Army in 1960, and served for six years. On May 8, 1971, Mike married Dolores E. Krins in Soquel, CA. Mike was a devoted husband and father and was looking forward to his first grandchild. Mike was active in the Boy Scouts of America troop 633 of Santa Cruz. He was a committee chairman, involved in fund raising and also led countless camping trips throughout the years of his involvement. He is survived by his loving wife, Dolores E. Edmonds of Santa Cruz; son, David Edmonds of Los Banos and his wife Kate; daughter, Denise McLain and her husband Mike of Santa Nella; his loving mother, Gladys Maxwell of Medford, OR; two sisters, Sue Lintott and her husband Bob of Seattle, WA and Randi Martin and her husband Harry of Cloverdale, CA; He is also survived by nieces, nephews and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph and his brother in law, Carl. A celebration of his life will be held at Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel, 1050 Cayuga St, Santa Cruz, CA, Friday, July 9, 2010, at 5:00 pm.
