Obituary of Patricia Caroline Seiber

Patricia Caroline Seiber, Patricia Caroline Seiber passed away November 29, 2010 at her home in Santa Cruz. She was 95. She was born in Milton, Illinois, the daughter of Daniel Boone Hayden and Etta Swarengin Hayden. She grew up in Missouri and Kansas before moving to California. As a young woman she attended nursing school and worked many years as a licensed vocational nurse. A resident of Santa Cruz for the past 49 years, where she was the nurse at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk, also worked as a private duty nurse and for various local nursing homes. She was also an active member of the Grey Bears and was their cook for many years preparing lunch for all the senior volunteers. She was a devout member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church on Cayuga St. She found great joy in helping others. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening and for the last three years making pot rag angeles to give as gifts. She is survived by her daughter, Arleen Gabrio; son, Arvie Seiber and her sister, Florine Russel. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arvis E. Seiber; three sons, Tex, Larry and Gary Seiber; her sister, Edna Thrasher; brother, Lucky Hayden and her grandson, Dennis Seiber. A memorial service will be held at a later. Arrangements are under the direction of Benito & Azzaro Paciific Gardens Chapel. In lieu of flowers contributions are preferred to Community Service Center for food distribution at Seventh-day Adventist Church, Grey Bears of Elm Street Mission.
