Obituary of Jackie Kercheval

Jacqueline  Willcoxon Kercheval, born in Sacramento, departed this life at home in Santa Cruz.  She was 96 years old.  A private service was held.

Mrs. Kercheval earned an Associate’s Degree in Social Work from Sacramento City College.  She worked as a Youth Counselor for California Youth Authority for many years.  After her retirement, she moved full time to Santa Cruz.

Her family was the most important part of her long and blessed life.  The family will cherish many happy memories.   A devout Christian, she attended Capital Christian Center in Sacramento, and Christian Life Center upon moving to Santa Cruz.

Jackie and Bob had been  married for 74 years before he passed peacefully at home. Both loved to travel.   While the family was growing up, they took cross-country trips, visiting National Parks, NYC  and Washington DC.  After they retired, they visited India, China and Europe.  She also visited Israel twice and Africa.  Both also enjoyed traveling the US in their RV with lifelong friends. They loved cruising, and after Bob was unable to travel, she took many cruises with her daughters.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Linda Kercheval and Robert Johnson, and Mariposa Kercheval and Gary Niblock.  She also leaves her grandchildren: Jennifer Huddy, Gabriel Houston, Joel Houston, and great granddaughter, Amor Houston.

The family wishes to gratefully acknowledge the loving care provided by her caregivers.  Without them, she would not have been able to stay in her home to the end of her life. Please visit the Benito and Azzaro homepage to share your condolences and reflections with her family.

Remembrances can be made to the Salvation Army in her name.
