Jack Verutti

Obituary of Jack Lawrence Verutti

It is with sorrow that we announce the death of our son Jack who passed away on October 22nd as a result of an accident in Felton, he was 41 years old.

Jack spent his entire life in the San Lorenzo Valley that he loved.

Attending Quail hollow elementary SLV Junior and Senior High schools.

He was an owner of the Verutti Liquor Stores and worked with his brother Stephen and his sister Christine.

Jack was raised Catholic, was confirmed and was an altar boy at St John’s in Felton.

He loved all sports, but especially Giants baseball, 49ers football and played both sports himself in high school. He also followed with passion his Dad’s beloved Oregon Ducks.

Although his life was not long he managed to travel to Mexico, and Hawaii with family and friends and also visited Italy, England, Hong Kong, Taiwan and had several fabulous vacations in Perth Australia   with his relatives.

Jack is survived by his loving parents Patrick and Eileen Verutti who will miss him with every beat of their hearts…along with his brother Stephen, and sister Christine Cooke and her husband Brian.

He is also sadly missed by his Uncles and Aunts Gail and Mike Shumate Mike Verutti; Sue Verutti and their families. His loss is also felt by his other parents Dennis and Maxine Mc Cullough of Clovis.

In Australia he is mourned by Eileen’s sister Midge, and (Denis) Humphrys also Janet and (Marcus) Beilby and 5 cousins with whom he had great holidays.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Jack and Grace Verutti (USA) and Laurie and Belle Coolahan of Perth Australia plus his older brother Paul who died at birth

However it was his niece Bella and nephew Tommy Cooke who were the joy of his life and his best friends

We believe God’s plan here on earth for Jack was for him to be the greatest friend ever to everyone he met and he has left too many SLV Buddies to mention by name. He was also a beloved Uncle Hammer to all their children. He will be remembered with love by all his friends whenever exaggerated stories and great tales are told here in the valley. Thank you to Dr Raffo and Wellbound clinic for your love and care.

Funeral Mass will be Wednesday November 3rd at 11am at St Michael’s Catholic Church in Boulder Creek with a reception to follow.

In Lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Mercy Ships, Valley Churches United in Ben Lomond, or the Diabetes Society.
