Obituary of Joan Cecilia Nedoroscik

Joan Cecilia Nedoroscik passed away peacefully in her Capitola home on Friday, October 29, 2021. She was 104 1/2 years old and a resident of Capitola for over 30 years.
Joan was born in Webster, MA, on April 22, 1917, to John Dziurgot and Julia Ostrowski. Joan married Andrew Nedoroscik on January 28, 1939, and built a beautiful home in Douglas, Massachusetts, where they raised their two daughters, Jeannie Field and Barbara Dana. 
Joan worked in the textile industry in East Douglas, MA, as a Quality Control Supervisor for over 40 years. She moved to Capitola, CA in 1994 to live closer to her daughter, Barbara. She purchased a mobile home in Capitola and furnished it with  all brand new beautiful pieces of furniture. Along with her many skills, Joan was also an amazing gardener. She planted a variety of many types of shrubs and flowers; however, her favorites were her roses and hydrangeas. All her neighbors would compliment her on her beautiful, meticulous home and garden.
Joan was a very devout Catholic and enjoyed attending Mass at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church each Sunday and each Holy Day of Obligation. She was also very proud that for over 5 years she would pray in the Adoration Chapel each Friday. 
She is survived by her daughters, Jeannie Field, Laughlin, NV., and Barbara Dana, Capitola, CA, 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Andrew, by her grandson, Mark Chiavaroli, her sister, Sophie Mayo, and brother, Andrew Dziurgot. She leaves behind numerous dear friends and extended family members with whom she shared many happy years.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 17th, at 11 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Capitola, CA 95010, with a reception following in the church hall.
