Obituary of Cindy Marie McDow

Cindy Marie McDow Cindy Marie McDow passed away on August 5, 2010 in Santa Cruz. She was 42 years old. Cindy Marie Mendez was born on February 7, 1968 to Santos and Trine Mendez. She spent some of her childhood in Watsonville, but grew up mostly in Santa Cruz. Cindy attended Santa Cruz Gardens for elementary school, Branciforte Junior High School and graduated from Santa Cruz High School. Cindy loved playing soccer and enjoyed bowling. But her favorite sport was baseball, which she was good at playing. Cindy also loved to watch her daughter Kristie in Cheerleading Competitions where Kristie was the flyer (she was thrown up in the air and caught). Cindy was so proud of her. Cindy belonged to Resurrection Church in Aptos. While growing up, she attended Holy Cross Catholic Church in Santa Cruz where she did her First Holy Communion and Confirmation. Cindy is survived by her parents, Santos and Trine Mendez of Santa Cruz, former husband, Kevin McDow, daughter, Kristie who is 19 years old from Soquel, son, David who is 25 years old from Aptos, sisters, Martina and Cary of Santa Cruz, brother, Mitch of Santa Cruz, grandparents, Santos and Mary Mendez of Santa Cruz, granddaughters, Jaylee and Evelyn, 4 nieces, 1 nephew, 4 aunts and 10 uncles. Cindy was preceded in death by her uncle, Jesse Chavez in 2005. A Mass will be held for Cindy at Resurrection Catholic Church, 7600 Soquel Dr. in Aptos on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. A reception will follow the Mass in the hall.
