Katherine Johana Harris Katherine Johana Harris was born March 18, 1921 in Texas. Her parents were born in California. Mrs. Harris had a degree in merchandising. She worked at UCSC for almost 20 years as an Accounting Administrator. Mrs. Harris loved to read and to travel, she started traveling seriously in her 50's. She was very talented at cooking and sewing. Mrs. Harris was from the Depression Era and was very careful with everything. Most of all, she was a very caring and loving mother and wife. She could have been the President or anything she wanted to do, but she chose to have a family. Mrs. Harris is survived by her daughter, Claudia Harris of Santa Cruz, her son, Charles R. Harris III of Sacramento, CA, grandchildren, Kyle Maloney of Florida and Megan Maloney of Ohio, her aunt Ruth, her cousins and other family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, who passed away June 5, 1997 and her oldest daughter, who passed away in 1999.
