Obituary of Gloria M. Miller

Friends and family will gather on Sunday in Santa Cruz for Gloria Miller who passed away at her Scotts Valley home on July 14, 2010 from a battle she fought against cancer. She was 81 years old. Born in Duncan Oklahoma, she was a long time resident of the Central San Joaquin Valley, residing in Tranquillity, Ca. While residing there, she helped her husband with both ranch operations and with the administration of the local irrigation district. She was also an active member of the Panoche Guild. Retiring to Scotts Valley in 1989, Gloria became very active in the weekly water aerobics class at Spring Lakes, and eventually served as leader for the course. She was a very talented artist both in painting and sculpting. She loved music and sang in the Spring Lakes Choir, and also played piano. She was proud to serve as one of Jehovah's witnesses. Her family was of paramount importance to her, and many cherished memories will forever be treasured by her loved ones. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Keith Miller of Scotts Valley; her two sons and daughters in-law, Richard and Beth Miller of Needham, Massachusetts, and Jeff and Teri Miller of Fremont, CA. Gloria also leaves behind five beloved grandchildren, and her three brothers: Joaquin Pittman of Coalinga, CA, Dale Pittman of Madera, CA, and Gary Pittman of Hayward, CA. A viewing will be held on Sunday, July 18th from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Benito and Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel. Burial will be private at Belmont Memorial Park in Fresno on Monday. Any kind acts of charity may be made in memory of Gloria to the American Cancer Society.
