Sandi Dihl

Obituary of Sandi Dihl

Sandi Dihl passed away peacefully at Dominican Hospital on August 27, 2010. Sandi was born Carleen Sandra Boberg on May 2, 1953 in North Carolina on a U.S. Marine Corps Base where her father was stationed. She was preceded in death by her long time partner, Glenn Vigeur. She is survived by her mother, Eleanor Boberg, and brother, Randy Boberg, both of Fountain Valley, Ca. She is also survived by Toby, her beloved cat, and Desi, her brave doggie companion who stayed by her side through it all. She was an integral part of her neighborhood and will be missed by the many friends, neighbors, artists, and animal lovers who were part of her life. Sandi was a well known and successful ceramic artist for the last 25 years. Her work was inspired by Asian forms and developed into what she called her "Japanesque" style. Her style was who she was- a self-made artist who toiled with clay and felt the depth of life through the earth. Her creations share abundance, beauty, and grace in many homes and galleries- the gifts from her Spirit that live on. To view her work, go to www.sandi-dihl.com. There will be a Celebration of Sandi's life at the Frederick St. Dog Park on Saturday, September 4th beginning at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, adopt a pet or donate to our local SPCA; Santa Cruz SPCA PO Box 3800, Santa Cruz, CA 95063.
