Obituary of Fred Pino

Fred Pino November 5, 1942 - March 6, 2011 Fred Pino passed away March 6, 2011. Fred was born in Oakland, CA to Ben and Lillian Pino. They moved to Santa Barbara for a short time then to Santa Cruz where he called "home". After graduating from Holy Cross High School he enlisted into the United States Air Force. When his term was complete he returned to Santa Cruz to begin his electrical apprenticeship. He married Crystal Rossi and also became a reserve officer for the Santa Cruz Police Department. Soon after he became of a father. As years past, Fred never lost touch with all of his friends from the air force or the police department. Fred was known for his great smile, funny sense of humor, and his honesty. He was a hard worker and was always willing to help a friend or neighbor. From wiring their home, changing a fixture out or finding them a job, he was always there. He had an extremely big heart. Fred loved the outdoors. He loved hunting and fishing with family and friends. He loved hot rod cars, the faster the better, drag racing and motorcycles. He leaves behind his loving family, daughters; Tiffani Jacobs and Monica Pino; son in law, Jimmy Jacobs; grandsons, Charlie and Ben Jacobs; roommate and loyal companion Rigby; his former wife, Chris Rossi Pino and many cousins and great friends. A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held at Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel, 1050 Cayuga St, Santa Cruz, CA, Saturday March 19 at 2:00 pm.
