Obituary of Amanda Ann Beyett

AMANDA "Mandy" BEYETT Services will be held in Felton on Saturday April 2, 2011 for Mandy Beyett who passed away on March 22, 2011 at her Ben Lomond home after a courageous battle with cancer. Her loving family was at her bedside. Born in San Francisco, Mandy was raised in Merced, California. She moved to the San Lorenzo Valley 25 years ago and loved her work as the manager of the "General Store" at Big Trees Roaring Camp in Felton for many years. Mandy played "Mrs. Claus" with her favorite "Mr. Claus", and enjoyed putting smiles on everyone who rode the holiday train. She had a huge heart and will be remembered for her loving help of those in need. Every Thanksgiving, Mandy fed many who were homeless and invited them to a Thanksgiving meal in her home, which was always open to those in need of a place to stay. She was passionate about crocheting loved the redwoods and creek that ran along side her home. She began her early career days as a Head Start aide in San Jose, CA and found she loved to encourage children to grow and realize their talents. She is survived by her sons, Ruben Gonzalez of Ben Lomond and Thomas "Tommy" Gonzalez of San Jose. Her mother, Jessie Arceo of Eagle, Idaho, and her sisters, Yvonne Gonzales of Merced, Cozette Walters-Swanson , and Melissa Castrigno both of Eagle, Idaho. Services will begin with a private burial which will take place at the Felton Cemetery on Felton Empire Road on Saturday, April 2, 2011, at 11:00 A.M. A celebration of her life will follow at the Mark Twain Hall at Big Trees Roaring Camp and everyone is invited to join the family on a final ride on her favorite train. Any kind acts of charity to help in the expenses of her burial can be made out in the name her personal representative, Cozette G. Walters and sent to Comerica Bank, Account No. 8002006875, 228 Mt.
