Obituary of Robert Edward Hanna

Robert Edward Hanna, Jr. No services are scheduled for Robert E. Hanna, Jr., who died March 2nd in Hospice. He was 88. A native of South Carolina, Bob Hanna lived in Santa Cruz from 1989 practicing law after passing the California bar exam at age 68. He had a varied career including seventeen years of law practice in New York and New Jersey and nine years as Technical Director of NBC's Kraft Television Theater during which time he received an Emmy Award for best live production in 1957 and recognition from Newsweek as "the industry's best technical director" that same year. A graduate of Citadel, he served in China Burma during World War II. Since 1990 he has enjoyed community service in the Prunedale Methodist Church, and his family. Survivors:Wife LesleyLathrop of Santa Cruz; Former wife Mary Hanna of Dallas, TX; Daughter Myrle Westlund of Dallas and sons Robert Hanna of Pittsburgh, PA and William Hanna of Ann Arbor, MI, plus twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild.
