Melissa Escobar

Obituary of Melissa Amber Escobar

Melissa Amber Escobar, age 24, unexpectingly passed away on Wednesday, April 6th, 2022 in Placerville, CA. Melissa was born October 15th, 1997, she was raised in Santa Cruz, CA. She attended schools in the local area such as Live Oak Elementary, Shoreline Middle School, Harbor High School, Coastanoa, and Cabrillo College.

Melissa was passionate about every single thing that she did. Getting her drivers license was such an accomplishment for her that opened so many doors. She got her own car and loved to just cruise around blasting music getting lost chasing beautiful views. In February, she graduated Esthetician School and started her career in the Skincare Industry. "Changing the world one skin at a time" was something she was so excited to be doing.

On June 14th, 2021, Melissa started her journey into a clean and sober lifestyle. She had a passion for her meetings and her program. Her sobriety was a huge part of her moving forward and reaching her life goals of changing the world one skin at a time. She was showing up to meetings, while she was struggling she was reaching out! When Melissa was working her program, her whole life was school and being of service to her NA community. She leaned into her NA community with open arms, just as they were there for her she was always there for them. Her program and people she met throughout her sobriety journey were not only everlasting friends but they made a serious impact upon her life.

Anyone who knew Melissa knew that she was indeed the life of the party, especially when it came to family events. She loved her mother, grandmother, siblings, nieces, and nephew dearly and was so proud of them but also so proud to be a part of them. Her nieces and nephew looked up to her so much. She absolutely loved being an auntie, we will never forget that she was the best, most stylish, funniest, and coolest auntie ever. When it comes to her friends, she was always there for them no matter what was going on in her life. She put her problems aside to be there for anyone who needed her.

She loved sunrises and sunsets. So when you look for her, that is where you will find her!

Following the Memorial there will be a Celebration of Life. This will be held at DeLaveaga Park, as soon as we are done with the service. If you would like to bring something we’re doing potluck food, bring your favorite side or anything you know she loved. We appreciate respectful interactions. Loud behavior will not be tolerated. Please remember we are all grieving and while we understand everyone grieves in their own ways, Melissa stood strong in her sobriety. She loved her program and her meetings and did her best everyday to overcome her struggles. We do ask that you do not show up drunk causing a scene and please refrain from bringing alcohol. This is to celebrate her life and the time we had with her.

In lieu of flowers - potted plants are appreciated.
