Obituary of Dominic A. Butaitis Sr.

Dominic A. Butaitis Sr. was called to rest on July 13th, 2022. Dominic was born to Joseph Butaitis and Lucy Bisazza on November 27th, 1949. He was native to South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he was born and raised. He later found his way to San Jose, California and later to Scotts Valley, in which he remained within the Santa Cruz County for 35 years.  

Dominic worked for the PaintersUnion, his love for painting led him to open his own business known as “Dominic’s Interiors”. Painting was more than just a job, it was his passion. You would also find Dominic fishing, camping, Rving, and going on vacation. He loved to listen to music and watch his fish in the many tanks he had at home. 

Dominic is preceded in death by his wife Marie Butaitis also know as Trudy (Red Dress) whom he was married to for 49 years, his daughter Tina Marie Butaitis, mother Lucy Bisazza, niece Amy Dibattista, and nephew Vincent Talarico. Dominic is survived by his children Dominic Butaitis Jr. and Deborah Bush Butaitis, and his sister Josephine Michetti. As well as his many grandchildren; Tina Gillenwater, Tyler Bush, Brittney Bush, and Dominick Butaitis III. Furthermore, survived by his great grandchildren Aiden Rodriguez, Tristan Gillenwater, Leviathan Horn, and Ethan Gillenwater. He will be dearly missed by niece Nicole Moody Dibattista, and nephews Anthony Talarico and Anthony Dibattista.

A service is being held at the 1440 Multiversity Outdoor Cathedral located at 800 Bethany Drive, Scotts Valley, CA, 95066 on Sunday, August 21st, 2022 at 1 P.M. Following the service will be a celebration of life held at the family residence, 705 Bethany Drive, Scotts Valley, CA, 95066. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Butaitis family at 705 Bethany Drive, Scotts Valley, CA, 95066.
