To my dear cousins Les, Linda, and Ron,
Your Dad was such a wonderful uncle.
My favorite memories are when he would show home movies (the one I remember was Seabright Beach when
we were kids) but he would run them backwards so we would be jumping back onto the rocks instead of off.
Also the Green River raft trip (I was so worried about him when he took the kayak down the worst rapids) and Lake Powell houseboat trip. The last letter I got from him he said I don't think I'll be able to go to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with you. I loved him and your mom so much.
Love to my wonderful cousins,
Sharon Ozinga

When Officer Hill would park his black, white and gold-starred California Highway Patrol car in his driveway around the block from our house, we would know the neighborhood was safe and sound. Sometimes he would let us boys read his CHP magazines with the photos of calamitous auto collisions. The scenes of destruction had the effect of motivating us as teenagers to drive safely and defensively. Then there were the days of seeing Mr. Hill in his sand chair down at Castle Beach, living it up with his fellow locals. He owned the strand as if he had been there in the days of the indigenous Uypi tribe. At church he might be serving us communion as a deacon, or making sure the facility was kept clean and in working order. It was obvious he had a quiet, yet strong faith in God and a servant's heart. He was one of those "men to match my mountains" in the poet's way of putting it, and in his off hours and travels he indeed ascended many mountain peaks. Glad I got to share life with him and his wonderful fun-loving family. Lane Webster, Cannon Beach, Oregon

My connection to Dudley was with him as a CHP/School Bus Liaison Officer when I was Transportation Supervisor for Santa Cruz City Schools. We became friends and my family used to meet up with Dudley and Adele at Lake Trinity; we did that for several summers. I was always impressed by his integrity, humility and warmth. I don’t believe in regrets, but I do regret not staying in closer contact most recently. His death greatly effected me. Condolences to his entire family. I plan to be at his celebration of life on Oct 30. Warmest regards, Sandy Cohen, Santa Cruz
