Obituary of Nathaniel Ryan Simonpillai

It is with deep sadness that we share Nathaniel Ryan Simonpillai passed away on November 29th, 2022 at the age of 30 years old. Born on July 20th, 1992, Nathaniel was born to Everard and Maleap Simonpillai in Santa Cruz, California and resided there the majority of his life.

As a baby, he had the cutest little head of curls and a contagious smile. He touched the lives of many by being who he was– a light to every room he walked into with his vibrant presence. Nathaniel loved music (both producing and listening to it), playing and watching sports, riding his bike along east cliff, working with his hands, cooking, and protecting his loved ones. He’d give you the shirt off his back without hesitance and could effortlessly make you laugh. Kids and dogs clung to him, because of his nurturing energy. He felt deeply and listened to every word you had to say with an intense intent to understand. That quality reflected the way he loved, which was passionately.

Nathaniel is survived by his parents, Maleap and Everard; brother, Krishan; many cousins, and friends. He will be immensely missed.

A visitation for Nathaniel will be held Thursday, December 8, 2022 from 11:00 am – 12 pm for viewing and 1pm-2pm for Service at Benito & Azzaro Funeral Home, 1050 Cayuga Street, Santa Cruz, CA 92705.
