Obituary of Lisa Marie Lazzari Warren

Dearly Beloved. We are gathered here today. To get through this thing called life- Prince

Lisa Marie Lazzari Warren

Forever we will remember our sister, our friend, our biggest supporter, our biggest bully- Mama Lisa.  Lisa was born on December 2, 1959, and passed at age 64 on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at precisely 4:20pm (wink, wink), of terminal cancer. Lisa passed in her Santa Cruz home surrounded by her sweet daughter, Larisa Marie Lazzari Warren, two of Larisa’s childhood friends, Laura and Sorina, and two big dogs (Sadie and Bentley).  Jackie Boy’s ashes were also present. A few good friends were also able to be there in the final weeks and days. Lisa was survived not only by her daughter, Larisa, but by her niece, Sandy Lazarri, and three siblings. Lisa was a local Santa Cruz LEGEND since 1987.

Our dear, gregarious friend grew up in San Bruno, moved to Santa Cruz and worked for over 30 years in the mortgage industry. In later years, Lisa could have been seen around town at Safeway or running bank drops at the infamous Boardwalk.  Lisa had friends everywhere she went.  She was loyal and always willing to lend a hand.  Her friend groups were many, diverse and scattered amongst the community.  Many of us never even met.  She  loved dogs and all animals.  She loved orchids. Boy did she love orchids! Who’s gonna send us our orchid pics in Messenger now?   Lisa appreciated the finer things in life.  Lisa liked “fancy” things.

We had good times.  We had bad times!  We had margaritas, champagne, and wine. We laughed, we cried, there were DUIs. It was often wild when Lisa was around.  We were wild.  But we were also good.  We held each other accountable, loved our children, and created community.

I believe Lisa would have said her greatest achievement was her daughter, Larisa Marie.  Lisa loved her baby girl more than anything else in the whole wide world.

Lisa will be sorely missed.  There will a Celebration of Lisa’s Life in Santa Cruz, California IMG_4599.jpeg

She wished for her ashes to be scattered at sea. The date is yet to be decided and will be posted. IMG_1006.jpeg
