Roxy had a very warm personality and I will always remember her kind smile and gentle voice.
There are many of us in Shingu who adore her, as well as in other cities she had visited.
I first met Roxy in 2007 when I traveled to Santa Cruz with the Shingu student delegation. Roxy and Ron held a pool party at their place and everyone enjoyed it so much. I remember how it helped the students to get along very quickly.
She had also traveled to Shingu many times as a chaperone of the Santa Cruz student delegation. We planned and arranged activities together. I was impressed with her thoughtfulness towards everyone.
More and more people came to like Japan and Shingu because of Roxy. The sister city relation might be very different than what we have today without her contributions. She was not only a member of the sister city but also was a big pillar supporting everyone.
Dear Roxy, thank you so much for being a wonderful friend. You will be missed. Rest in peace up in heaven.

I married Roxi’s nephew, Kirk. I remember once after a family gathering at Ron & Roxi’s home, we were cleaning the kitchen and chatting. Roxie said if anything ever happens between Kirk & Joni, we’re trading Kirk & keeping Joni. (I’m paraphrasing, but it was a sweet, funny thing to say. What an adored person. Always felt welcomed in her presence.
