Obituary of Robert Eugene Guilbert

Robert “Bob” Eugene Guilbert passed away peacefully at his residence on March 12^th, 2018 at the age of 86. He was born January 3^rd, 1932 in Auburn, California to Frank and Esther Guilbert. Bob spent his childhood in many locations throughout Northern California and Southern Oregon.

 

He met and married his wife, Lois in 1950. They moved to the Santa Cruz area and have been longtime residents. He was employed by AT&T phone company for 41 years and retired in December of 1992.

 

Bob was a lover of dogs, enjoyed cooking, traveling and fishing. He was a former member of the Santa Cruz AKC Kennel Club, Barber Shop men's chorus and former President of Live Oak Little League.

 

Bob was preceded in death by his son, Alan Guilbert who passed away in September of 2000. He is survived by his wife of 67 years Lois Guilbert, daughters Phyllis Holmes of Florence, Oregon and Barbara LaBrosse of Vancouver, Washington, son Kenny Guilbert of Meridian, Idaho as well as six grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

 

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations may be made in his name to Santa Cruz Hospice.
