Obituary of Rose LaVaughn Wagner

Rose LaVaughn Wagner was born November 6, 1935 in Edmond, Oklahoma. Though she called Santa Cruz her home since the tender age of six.

Rose worked as a waitress well past her 80th birthday. She would speak fondly of her time at Spivey’s (on the corner of Ocean and Water Streets), Cindy’s (on 41st Ave.), and finally of Golden West now Jeffery’s where she worked for Jeff Walsh for over 30 years.

Rose had three children, Marlene King-Penny, Billy Watson and Karen Wagner Medina. Rose was the grandmother of 10 and the great-grandmother of 12. She was also survived by her sister, Zella Jackson of Duncan, OK.   When Rose was not at work or spending time with her family she loved working in her garden.

Her husband of 25 years was Terry Reynolds. She was surrounded by her loving family as she traveled on to be with her son Billy and her best friend Lois Turner in the next life.

A memorial service will be held at Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel, 1050 Cayuga St, Santa Cruz, CA on April 2, 2018 beginning at 12:00 noon. A celebration of life will follow at Jeffery’s Restaurant 2050 Soquel Ave, Santa Cruz, CA.
