Anthony Costanzo

Obituary of Anthony Paul Costanzo

A vigil ceremony and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday and Tuesday for Anthony Paul Costanzo, who passed away peacefully with his brother Robert at his bedside, in Fayetteville, NC.  Born in Santa Cruz, he was 67 years old.  Tony, as he was affectionately known, will always be remembered for his graciousness in overcoming obstacles in his life. He was a loved and cherished son, brother and uncle.

Tony moved to North Carolina three years ago with his brother and caregiver, Bob. He leaves many dear friends and colleagues at the Skill Center in Aptos. Many fond memories of Tony’s love for trains, electronics, his radios, and tinkering with gadgets, will continue to be shared by his loved ones. Tony would always find a reason to visit a flea market or the mall, and make someone’s day with his playful style.

He is survived by his sisters, Susan Bellangero, Dorothy Escobar, and Josie Rush. He also leaves his brothers Robert Costanzo and Donald Costanzo along with numerous loving nieces, nephews, and extended family including lifelong friend and “brother” Robert Richter. Tony was preceded in death by his brothers John and Victor Costanzo.
Friends may pay their respects at Benito and Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel on Monday April 30, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.  A vigil and recitation of the rosary will begin at 6 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at the Holy Cross Mission (Emmet and School Streets) in Santa Cruz, on Tuesday May 1, 2018 beginning at 10 a.m.

He will be laid to rest beside his mother and father Rose and Carmine Costanzo at the Holy Cross Mausoleum, following the mass.
