Obituary of Carina Zamora Ordaz

Life Long Santa Cruz Resident

Friends and family will gather on Sunday and Monday in Santa Cruz to say farewell to a beautiful mother, daughter, sister, and friend, Carina Zamora who died unexpectedly at her home this past Saturday. She was 35 years old. She will be mourned along with her baby girl, Daniela Alejandra Xilonzochilt whom she was to give birth to in August.

Carina was born in Santa Cruz, graduated from Harbor High School, and for many years, worked as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant for both private home health care and local convalescent hospitals.

Many fond memories will be cherished by her family for her love of music and dance.  As a young mother, she enjoyed her coffee outings with her special girlfriends, and truly looking forward to being a mother for a third time.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel Xilonzochilt, her two daughters, Jelitza Zamora, and Alexia Xilonzochitt, her mother and father, Celia Ordaz and Nico Zamora, and her sister, Claudia Zamora.  She leaves her 4 nephews, and many beloved cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Friends may pay their respects on Sunday, June 3, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Benito and Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel.  The recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 6 p.m.  The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church (515 Frederick Street) in Santa Cruz on Monday, June 4^th beginning at  10:30 a.m.

Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Santa Cruz.
