Obituary of Rosemary Anne Kowalski

October 4, 1935 – November 14, 2018

50 Year Resident of Santa Cruz County

Friends and family will gather in Santa Cruz on November 30th, to celebrate and give thanks for the life of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and dedicated friend, Rosemary Kowalski who passed away at Dominican Hospital this past week following complications from surgery.

Born in the Monongahela Township of Pennsylvania, she moved to Fresno California in 1951, and raised her family there.  Rosemary moved to Santa Cruz 50 years ago, and began a career as an administrative assistant at Dominican Hospital.  Her career spanned over 35 years at Dominican Hospital where she was affectionately known by the Adrian Dominican Sisters and other colleagues at the hospital as “Sister Rosemary”.

She was a talented seamsstess, and designed beautiful quilts, and also knitted wonderful gifts for her family and friends.  Many fond memories will continue to be shared of her love and extensive collection of plates, dolls, and books.  She was a voracious reader and enjoyed gardening and especially raising her beautiful roses.

Rosemary leaves her two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Paul Kriscunas of Capitola; Vicki and Gordon Fraser of Richmond Hill, Georgia, her four grandchildren: Paul Allen, Jessica, Kimberlee, Mark, and three great grandchildren: Jack, Eleanor, and Jason. She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Kowalski in 2012.

The ceremony will be held on Friday November 30 at Benito and Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel in Santa Cruz, beginning at 1 p.m.

To share your thoughts and prayers with her family, please visit the Benito and Azzaro homepage.  Any kind acts of charity can be made in her memory to Walnut Ave. Women’s Center (303 Walnut Ave.  Santa Cruz, CA.  95060)
