Christopher Rees

Obituary of Christopher Thomas Rees

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our son, Christopher Thomas Rees on August 21st, 2018.  Those who knew Chris even just for a moment were touched by his infectious love and kindness. He had an absolute zest for life, always giving 100% into every endeavor that interested or challenged him. Chris’s passions included motorcycle racing, hunting, Disney, Star Wars, tinkering with bikes/cars and anything electronic, 4 wheeling with friends and of course, his true passion, dancing.  Chris was an avid country western/swing dancer and had taught hundreds of people how to dance at the Saddle Rack Country Night Club in San Jose, where he held classes several nights a month.  Having just finished his first set of YouTube dance video lessons with other members of his dance group Rebel Soles, Chris’s dream was to start his own country club, and was on his way to obtaining that goal.

Chris’s greatest gift was that not only did he have a zest for life, he saved lives.  His chosen career of being a paramedic was highlighted by his exemplary medical skills coupled with his deep compassion for his patients and crew members.  Chris was always willing to go out of his way and was the first to defend, aid, comfort and support his many friends, he will be dearly missed.

Chris was preceded in death by his father, William Thomas Rees.  He is survived by his mother, Carmen Santee (Rusty) sister Monica (Jessica) step-brothers Reed (Maria) Clark and Greg (Katy) and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on December 8th at Peace United Church. Viewing will be held from 11:00am-12:00 pm. The service will begin at 12:00 pm with a reception to follow.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude for the huge outpouring of love and remembrances left on the Chris Rees Memorial Facebook page by his many family, friends and acquaintances, it is wonderful to know how much he was loved and will be missed.
